Stone of Jordan returning to Diablo 4 isn't just a nostalgia hit; it could change how you build around resistance, elemental damage, and ring slots. The Season 15 PTR also points toward a gear system where familiar names matter again, especially when you're deciding how to spend D4 Gold on upgrades, rerolls, and a new loadout. The test period has ended, though Blizzard can still adjust values, restrictions, and effects before launch.

The nine items worth watching

The current PTR list contains nine confirmed Legacy Uniques, with Ring of Royal Grandeur removed from the later official list. Their appeal comes from distinct combat jobs rather than raw numbers: In-Geom rewards elite chaining, Nemesis Bracers add elite packs through Shrines, and The Furnace focuses on elite and boss damage. Arioc's Needle brings Deadly Strike into the discussion, while Henri's Perquisition may turn Dexterity into a useful secondary scaling route for classes that normally prioritize another Primary Stat.

Stone of Jordan: elemental defense and offense in one ring.
Leoric's Crown: a helm that interacts with socketed gem power.
Squirt's Blouse: high damage while avoiding incoming hits.
In-Geom: faster skill cycling after elite kills.
Nemesis Bracers: more elite encounters during Shrine-heavy runs.
The Furnace: direct pressure against elite targets.
Arioc's Needle: a burst-focused Deadly Strike weapon.
Henri's Perquisition: Dexterity-based stat conversion.
Messerschmidt's Reaver: confirmed, but its PTR effect was not available.

Which Unique fits your farm?

Don't judge these items with a single tier list. A fast Nightmare Dungeon route, a boss encounter, and a difficult push ask different questions of your build. In-Geom can feel fantastic when elite packs are constant, but its value drops when targets are spread out. Nemesis Bracers may increase loot and proc opportunities, yet gloves often carry strong offensive effects. Squirt's Blouse is similar: barriers, mobility, and clean positioning can make it shine, while repeated hits erase its advantage.

Charms change the slot game

Unique Charms may matter more than the returning equipment itself. The PTR preview expands the system to 23 Unique Charms: 16 existing Uniques plus seven Legacy effects, including Stone of Jordan, In-Geom, The Furnace, and Squirt's Blouse. That means you can consider an effect without automatically surrendering its original slot. The trade-off is subtler now. Ask whether the effect is stronger as a weapon, ring, glove, or chest piece, then compare the Charm against the Talisman options your build already needs.

Mythic power needs restraint

Mythic-quality Charms can roll their properties at maximum values and carry a stronger Unique effect, but they can't be deliberately crafted or directly targeted. That rarity gives the drop real excitement, although progression could feel uneven if the chase becomes too remote. The proposed Mythic upgrade path is easier to understand: preserve a well-rolled Unique's existing statistics while paying a higher material cost and receiving a special Crafted tag. From what I've seen, that direction is healthier than forcing players to risk losing the item they spent hours perfecting.

The mistake I'd avoid

Don't rebuild your entire character around a PTR damage screenshot. Test the item inside the activity where you plan to use it, record how often its effect activates, and compare the lost slot bonus rather than staring at the tooltip alone. Stone of Jordan needs a real elemental plan; The Furnace needs enough elite and boss content to justify its weapon cost; Leoric's Crown needs careful testing beside Soul Splinters because layered systems can create unexpected winners. Season 15 looks strongest when each item supports a playstyle, not when one interaction becomes mandatory. Keep an eye on the patch notes, save flexible gear, and treat cheap D4 items as optional support rather than a substitute for testing your own build before the season begins.
