A duplicate Mythic Unique isn't dead weight; it is a decision waiting to be made. When your stash starts filling after boss rotations, it helps to think of D4 items as resources with different jobs, not just trophies. Keep the Mythics that support the character you play now or a build you genuinely plan to try. The rest still matter. Taking an unwanted Mythic Unique to the Blacksmith gives you a Resplendent Spark, and four Sparks can be turned into the Mythic you actually need at the Alchemist. That makes even an awkward duplicate worth picking up.

Check the Codex Before the Item

For regular Legendary drops, the Aspect is often more important than the gear itself. It's easy to stare at affixes and miss a better roll for your Codex of Power. Do that check first. If the stored Aspect would improve, salvage the item and move on. For equipment you might wear, 925 Item Power should be the usual starting point once you're deep into Pits and Tormented encounters. Lower-power pieces can occasionally fill a short-term gap, sure, but they rarely deserve permanent stash space when better bases drop so often.

Greater Affixes Need Context

A Greater Affix looks exciting, but the stat still has to pull its weight. Critical Strike Chance, Attack Speed, weapon damage, Maximum Life, and your class's main stat are the kinds of rolls people notice straight away. They can improve a build or hold real gold value. On the other hand, Life on Kill, Healing Received, and resource gained on kill usually don't change much in hard fights. Don't keep a weak item just because the text is highlighted. A quick sorting routine can save a lot of time.

Mark upgrades for the build you're actively using.
Set aside strong Greater Affix pieces with broad demand.
Salvage Codex improvements before comparing minor stats.
Clear niche rolls unless your own build specifically needs them.

Make Space for the Next Run

Uniques deserve a closer look because their special effects can roll across a wide range. A popular Unique with a poor power roll may lose to a properly crafted Legendary, so compare the effect rather than trusting the name. High rolls are worth saving; weak copies can become Forgotten Souls for Enchanting and Masterworking. If you want to keep your tabs useful, treat every slot as expensive. Players who plan purchases of D4 items buy options can use that same discipline: keep real upgrades, keep proven trade pieces, and turn the rest into materials.
